Miniature horses were used to pull carts and were also used in mining work where their small and strong body structure was an advantage. Because of their friendly disposition, they are nowadays used as pets and as part of therapy for people with disabilities. They are also bred and presented in specialist horse shows. Our miniature horses are the gift of Robin Gordon Appel via the Jerusalem Foundation and came to us from a farm in Wisconsin, USA. Miniature horses are the world's smallest horses (not ponies, as commonly thought).
